A Pioneer in Sustainability for the Aviation Sector
At ERKE Design, we provided consultancy services for the Turkish Airlines MRO Building under the LEED BD+C: Warehouses and Distribution Centers (v4) certification system. Completed in April 2021 at the Certified level, the project is a prime example of successfully achieving sustainability goals in the aviation sector.
Achievements of the Project:
Sustainable Site Management:
The project scored 2 out of 10 points in the sustainable site category by implementing solutions to reduce light pollution and minimize environmental impacts, contributing to a more sustainable approach.
Water Efficiency:
With efficient irrigation systems and indoor water-saving solutions, the project achieved 7 out of 11 points in the water efficiency category. These measures optimized water usage and enhanced environmental responsibility.
Energy Performance:
The project earned 11 out of 53 points in the energy performance category by optimizing energy consumption and improving efficiency through advanced energy management solutions.
Materials and Resources Management:
By effectively managing construction waste and using environmentally friendly materials, the project scored 4 out of 13 points in this category, supporting recycling and eco-friendly practices.
Indoor Environmental Quality:
The project achieved 6 out of 16 points in indoor environmental quality by prioritizing air quality and innovative lighting solutions, ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for employees.
Innovation and Regional Priority Credits:
The project earned 4 out of 6 points in the innovation category and a perfect score of 3/3 in regional priority credits, highlighting its innovative approaches and alignment with regional sustainability goals.
