The THY Operations Center Facility, designed in alignment with sustainability principles in Istanbul, was awarded LEED BD+C: New Construction Certification at the Certified level in 2021. Guided by ERKE, the project focused on critical areas such as energy efficiency, water management, and eco-friendly material use, successfully minimizing its environmental impact. With a total of 41 points, this facility represents a significant achievement in environmentally conscious building design.

 Sustainability Through Energy and Water Efficiency

The project earned 11/53 points in the Energy and Atmosphere category, implementing innovative energy solutions:

• Energy Performance (10/18): The building was designed with optimized systems to reduce energy consumption.
• Enhanced Refrigerant Management (1/1): Eco-friendly refrigerant systems were used to lower the carbon footprint.

In the Water Efficiency category, the project achieved 6/11 points, showcasing its success in water management:

• Indoor Water Use (5/6): Efficient fixtures and systems were selected to ensure water savings.
• Outdoor Water Use (1/2): Innovative solutions were implemented to minimize irrigation water consumption.

Material Selection and Indoor Environmental Quality

The project earned 3/13 points in the Materials and Resources category, prioritizing sustainable material use:

• Construction Waste Management (2/2): Effective waste management and recycling were implemented during construction.
• Environmental Product Declaration (1/2): Materials were selected based on transparent evaluation of their environmental impact.

In the Indoor Environmental Quality category, 5/16 points were achieved, reflecting investments in occupant health and comfort:

• Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies (2/2): Systems were applied to improve indoor air quality.
• Indoor Lighting (1/2): Lighting solutions were designed to enhance user comfort.
