Awarded this prestigious recognition in July 2020, the hospital exemplifies a sustainable and eco-friendly model in healthcare facilities by embracing sustainability principles.
With a total of 65 points, the project stands out for its excellent performance in the Energy & Atmosphere, Water Efficiency, and Indoor Environmental Quality categories. This innovative approach minimizes environmental impacts while enhancing the comfort of patients and staff.
Focusing on energy efficiency, the project scored 14 out of 24 points in the Optimize Energy Performance category, achieving significant reductions in energy consumption. Additionally, credits in Enhanced Commissioning and On-site Renewable Energy brought the total score in this category to 19 out of 39 points. These strategies contributed to reducing long-term operating costs and advancing environmental sustainability goals.
The hospital demonstrated outstanding performance in water conservation. Full points were achieved in Water Efficient Landscaping and Water Use Reduction, resulting in a total score of 7 out of 9 points. Water-efficient systems contributed to conserving natural resources and reducing operational costs.
Prioritizing user health and comfort, the project scored 9 out of 18 points in the Indoor Environmental Quality category. Successes in Daylight and Views and Low-Emitting Materials credits improved indoor air quality and natural light access, enhancing the overall user experience.
The project promoted eco-friendly material use, achieving full points in the Sustainably Sourced Materials category. Combined with successes in Construction Waste Management and Resource Use - Design for Flexibility, the project scored 8 out of 16 points in this category.
Innovative designs and solutions aligned with local environmental priorities earned the project 6 out of 6 points in the Innovation category and 4 out of 4 points in Regional Priority credits.
