Coca-Cola Multan Factory Achieves LEED Silver Certification
The Coca-Cola Multan Factory has crowned its commitment to reducing environmental impacts and developing sustainable operations with LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) Silver Certification. Through ERKE’s LEED consultancy, we implemented innovative solutions to maximize sustainability standards and achieve certification. The project successfully earned 52 points on the LEED scorecard, reaching Silver level.
Key Sustainability Highlights
1. Alternative Transportation and Sustainable Site Development (15/26 Points):
The Coca-Cola Multan Factory excelled in transportation strategies. Full points were awarded for developing access to public transportation and areas designated for low-emission vehicles. Additionally, designs aimed at mitigating the heat island effect enhanced environmental benefits while supporting sustainable land use.
2. Water Efficiency (6/10 Points):
Innovative strategies to reduce water consumption stood out in this category. The factory demonstrated near-maximum performance through efficient water usage and wastewater management technologies. These strategies significantly contributed to conserving natural water resources and lowering operational costs.
3. Energy and Atmosphere Performance (10/35 Points):
Optimized energy performance and advanced energy management systems were key highlights of this category. Robust measurement and verification practices played a vital role in monitoring energy consumption and enabling continuous improvement, ensuring long-term efficiency gains.
4. Indoor Environmental Quality (8/15 Points):
The project prioritized occupant health and comfort. Significant steps were taken to enhance indoor environmental quality through the use of low-emission materials and thermal comfort strategies. This approach improved employee satisfaction and created an eco-friendly working environment.
