Coca-Cola Elazığ Factory Achieves LEED O+M Gold Certification with ERKE’s Consultancy
As ERKE Design, we have once again demonstrated our leadership in sustainability through our LEED Consultancy for the Coca-Cola İçecek Elazığ Factory. Under the LEED O+M (Operation and Maintenance): Existing Buildings v2009 system, the project earned 62 points, achieving Gold Certification. This accomplishment highlights significant gains in both environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
Success Across LEED Categories
The total score of 62 points places the project solidly within the Gold certification range, reflecting our team’s systematic and strategic approach to sustainability goals. Below are the key highlights from major LEED categories:
1. Sustainable Sites:
The project earned an impressive 18 points, demonstrating strong performance in site and transportation management. Notably, the “Alternative Transportation” subcategory achieved a perfect score of 15/15, encouraging employees to adopt sustainable commuting options.
2. Water Efficiency:
With 12/14 points, the project excelled in water management. Significant improvements were achieved in “Additional Indoor Plumbing Efficiency” (5/5) and “Water-Efficient Landscaping” (4/5), showcasing notable reductions in water consumption.
3. Energy & Atmosphere:
Optimizing the performance of existing systems resulted in 8 points for energy efficiency. The “Existing Building Commissioning – Investigation and Analysis” category received a perfect score of 2/2, reflecting the meticulous evaluation and enhancement of energy systems.
4. Indoor Environmental Quality:
Focusing on improved indoor air quality earned the project 9/15 points. Key achievements include full points for “Increased Ventilation” and “Controllability of Lighting Systems,” enhancing occupant health, comfort, and productivity.
