EAE Galvanized Production Factory Achieves LEED Gold Certification
The EAE Galvanized Production Factory has achieved a significant milestone by earning LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) Gold Certification. With a total of 61 points, this project was successfully implemented through ERKE’s expert LEED consultancy, showcasing a commitment to environmentally friendly practices and sustainability principles.
Key Sustainability Highlights
1. Energy and Atmosphere Performance (16/35 Points):
Energy efficiency and renewable energy integration were key focuses of the project. 10 out of 19 points were earned through optimized energy performance, while an additional 3 points were achieved by meeting part of the facility’s energy needs through renewable energy sources. Energy measurement and verification strategies further enhanced system efficiency.
2. Water Efficiency (8/10 Points):
Innovative water management solutions were implemented to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs. Maximum success was achieved through wastewater reuse and low-flow fixtures, significantly contributing to the conservation of natural resources.
3. Sustainable Site Management (16/26 Points):
The factory stands out with its proximity to public transportation and infrastructure designed for low-emission vehicles. Additionally, roofs and landscaping designed to mitigate the heat island effect contributed to minimizing environmental impacts.
4. Materials and Resources (6/14 Points):
The use of local and recycled materials provided both environmental and economic benefits. Construction waste management and recycling practices minimized waste generation, supporting sustainability goals.
5. Innovation and Regional Priority Credits (9/10 Points):
The project elevated sustainability standards through innovative design solutions while addressing regional priorities with a socially and environmentally conscious approach.
