A New Standard in Sustainable Manufacturing Facilities
At ERKE Design, we provided consultancy services for the EAE Lighting Factory Dilovası project under the LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) certification system. Completed in December 2018 at the Gold level, the project stands as a significant example of prioritizing sustainability in environmentally friendly manufacturing facility design.
Achievements of the Project:
Sustainable Site Development:
The project earned 18 out of 26 points by incorporating environmentally friendly solutions such as access to public transportation, parking for low-emission vehicles, and bicycle parking facilities.
Water Efficiency:
With innovative water management and efficient irrigation systems, the project achieved 8 out of 10 points in the water efficiency category. These solutions provided both environmental and economic benefits.
Energy Performance:
The project scored 12 out of 35 points in the energy and atmosphere category through optimized energy performance and advanced energy management systems, significantly reducing energy consumption.
Materials and Resources Management:
By combining the use of recycled and locally sourced materials with effective construction waste management, the project earned 6 out of 14 points in the materials and resources category, reinforcing the facility’s environmentally conscious approach.
Indoor Environmental Quality:
The project achieved 7 out of 15 points in indoor environmental quality by utilizing low-emission materials and thermal comfort applications, emphasizing the health and comfort of its employees.
Innovation and Regional Priority Credits:
The project achieved full points (6/6) in the innovation category and full points (4/4) in regional priority credits, showcasing its innovative solutions and alignment with local needs.
