At ERKE Design, we provided consultancy services for the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings (v4.1) certification of the Gelal Socks Factory project. Completed at the Platinum level in August 2021, this project is a significant achievement in meeting environmental sustainability standards in the manufacturing sector.

Sustainable Site Management
The project earned full points, 4/4, in the sustainable site category by implementing solutions for stormwater management, reducing the heat island effect, and preventing light pollution.
Water Efficiency
Through innovative water management systems, the project achieved 12 out of 15 points in the water efficiency category. These measures significantly contributed to water conservation and cost reduction.
Energy Efficiency
The project earned 25 out of 35 points in the energy and atmosphere category by optimizing energy performance and integrating advanced energy management strategies. The incorporation of energy-efficient systems reduced the factory’s carbon footprint.
Materials and Resource Management
The project achieved 6 out of 9 points in this category by adopting waste management and recycling-focused approaches. Optimized material consumption and environmentally conscious supply chain policies supported this success.
Indoor Environmental Quality
Scoring 21 out of 22 points, the project excelled in indoor air quality performance, integrated pest management, and green cleaning practices. This ensured a healthy and comfortable environment for employees.
Transportation and Location
The project earned 13 out of 14 points by supporting eco-friendly transportation options for employees.
