An Exemplary Facility for Sustainable Manufacturing
At ERKE Design, we provided consultancy services for the LEED BD+C: New Construction (v4) certification of the Puratos-Efes Facility project. Completed at the Silver level in January 2022, this project stands out with its innovative and sustainable solutions in the design of eco-friendly manufacturing facilities.
Achievements of the Project
Water Efficiency
By utilizing systems that optimize water consumption, the project earned 8 out of 11 points in the water efficiency category. These solutions contributed to preserving water resources and reducing operational costs.
Energy Performance
The project achieved 24 out of 53 points in the energy and atmosphere category. The optimized energy performance credit was maximized, and renewable energy sources were integrated into the facility.
Materials and Resource Management
The project earned 2 out of 13 points in the materials and resource management category through effective construction waste management. This approach emphasized the importance of recycling and adopted environmentally friendly practices.
Indoor Environmental Quality
The project earned 5 out of 16 points in this category by implementing strategies for thermal comfort, indoor lighting, and enhanced indoor air quality. Employee health and comfort were prioritized.
Innovation and Regional Priority Credits
The project scored 5 out of 6 points in the innovation category and full points (4 out of 4) in regional priority credits, demonstrating alignment with innovative and regional sustainability goals.
Integrated Processes and Location
Through an integrated design process, the project earned full points, and the selection of a location with high environmental sensitivity contributed to earning 2 out of 20 points in the transportation category.
