Türk Traktör Sakarya Project Achieves LEED Gold Certification with ERKE’s Consultancy

As ERKE Design, we brought our sustainability goals to life in the Türk Traktör Sakarya Warehouse and Assembly Building project. Completed under the LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) system, the project earned a total of 61 points, achieving Gold Certification. This success highlights our innovative solutions focused on environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.

Achievements Across LEED Categories

The 61 points earned reflect our comprehensive approach to sustainability principles. Here are the highlights that contributed to this achievement:

1. Sustainable Sites (18/26 Points):
We showcased our environmentally friendly designs, earning full points (6/6) in the Alternative Transportation – Access to Public Transportation category by providing sustainable commuting options for employees. Additionally, we scored 2/2 points in Heat Island Effect – Roof and Non-Roof Areas, demonstrating success in heat management strategies.

2. Water Efficiency (10/10 Points):
The project achieved maximum success in this category with 10 points. Notably, the Water-Efficient Landscaping (4/4) and Water Use Reduction (4/4) categories reflect our commitment to minimizing water consumption.

3. Energy and Atmosphere (9/35 Points):
Energy efficiency improvements earned 9 points. In the Optimize Energy Performance category, we achieved 4/19 points, marking significant progress in energy management. Additionally, the Enhanced Refrigerant Management credit earned a perfect 2/2 points, reducing environmental impacts.

4. Materials and Resources (6/14 Points):
We promoted the use of sustainable materials, earning full points in the Recycled Content and Regional Materials categories. These efforts encouraged the use of local and environmentally responsible materials.

5. Indoor Environmental Quality (9/15 Points):
Focusing on occupant comfort, the project achieved 9 points. We earned full points in the Low-Emitting Materials categories, ensuring a healthy indoor environment for employees. Success was also achieved in the Daylight and Views credits, enhancing natural light and visual comfort.

6. Innovation (5/6 Points):
By implementing innovative solutions, we earned 5 points in this category. These creative sustainability strategies added unique value to the project.
