The Path to LEED Gold Certification
At ERKE, we lead the way in sustainability standards with the consultancy we provide for our projects. One of our recent standout projects, ICDAS Plaza, exemplifies environmentally conscious design and compliance with green building standards. Evaluated under the LEED BD+C: New Construction v2009 standards, the project was awarded the LEED Gold certification in February 2016.
Key Strategic Areas Behind the Project’s Success
Sustainable Sites:
The project earned 16 out of 26 points, showcasing the impact of its environmentally friendly design. Full points were achieved in credits such as SSc4.1: Access to Public Transportation, emphasizing ease of access to public transport.
Water Efficiency:
With a perfect score of 10/10, this category highlighted the project's commitment to efficient water use. Features such as water-efficient landscaping and innovative wastewater technologies set an example for sustainable practices.
Energy and Atmosphere:
By securing 11 out of 35 points, the project demonstrated its focus on energy efficiency through critical credits like EAc1: Optimize Energy Performance.
Additional Points:
The project also gained supplementary points under Innovation (5/6) and Regional Priority Credits (3/4), further enhancing its overall performance. These efforts culminated in a total score of 61 points, qualifying the project for Gold certification.
