Designing Modern and Sustainable Living Spaces
At ERKE Design, we provided consultancy services for the ISTANBLOOM project under the LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) certification system. Completed in April 2015 at the Gold level, this project combines modern architecture with the principles of sustainability to deliver a unique living environment.
Achievements of the Project:
Sustainable Site Management:
The project earned 23 out of 26 points in the sustainable site category by focusing on minimizing environmental impacts. Features such as access to public transportation, preservation of green spaces, and reduction of light pollution contributed to this success.
Water Efficiency:
Innovative water-saving solutions enabled the project to achieve 8 out of 10 points in the water efficiency category. These systems not only helped conserve natural resources but also reduced operational costs.
Energy Performance:
With cutting-edge energy-saving systems, the project scored 13 out of 35 points in the energy and atmosphere category. The integration of renewable energy sources and optimized energy performance enhanced the project's environmental friendliness.
Materials and Resources Management:
The use of recycled materials and efficient management of construction waste earned the project 4 out of 14 points in this category, providing an additional advantage in environmental sustainability.
Indoor Environmental Quality:
The project achieved 7 out of 15 points in indoor environmental quality by incorporating thermal comfort systems, high indoor air quality measures, and low-emission materials. These strategies positively contributed to residents' health and quality of life.
Innovation and Regional Priority Credits:
The project received 4 out of 6 points in the innovation category and full points (4/4) in regional priority credits. Its innovative solutions and alignment with regional needs made it a standout achievement.
