At ERKE Design, our LEED Consultancy for the CIMSA Cafeteria Project brought a sustainability-focused vision to life. The project achieved Platinum certification under LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) with a remarkable score of 82 points. This success is a result of the detailed strategies implemented to minimize environmental impacts and achieve high energy efficiency goals.

The CIMSA Cafeteria Project achieved notable success in the following areas:

Sustainable Site Utilization

By enhancing alternative transportation options, the project achieved near-maximum scores in the Sustainable Sites category. Features such as access to public transportation, bicycle parking, and electric vehicle charging stations contributed significantly to this success.

Water Efficiency

The project earned full points in all Water Efficiency categories, demonstrating adherence to the highest standards. Advanced irrigation systems and low-flow fixtures played a pivotal role in achieving this outcome.

Energy Performance

The project earned 19 full points for energy optimization, highlighting the effectiveness of energy modeling and the integration of innovative systems.

Innovation for a Better Future

The project also scored highly in the Innovation and Regional Priority Credits categories. Achievements in regional priorities, such as optimized energy performance and mitigating the heat island effect, further established its position as a standout sustainable building. These accomplishments demonstrate that the CIMSA Cafeteria Project not only meets current needs but also addresses future environmental and social responsibility goals.
