Türk Traktör Social Facility Achieves LEED Gold Certification
The Türk Traktör Social Facility has earned LEED BD+C: New Construction (v2009) Gold Certification, thanks to its environmentally sustainable design and implementation. Achieving a total of 66 points, the project successfully created a sustainable building through ERKE’s expert LEED consultancy.
Key Sustainability Highlights
1. Water Efficiency (10/10 Points):
Maximum success was achieved in water management. Innovative wastewater technologies and water-efficient landscaping applications minimized water consumption. These strategies not only reduced environmental impacts but also delivered significant operational cost savings.
2. Sustainable Site Management (18/26 Points):
The facility stands out with sustainable site management and transportation solutions. Proximity to public transportation and designated parking for low-emission vehicles helped reduce the carbon footprint. Additionally, environmentally friendly designs on roofs and landscaping mitigated the heat island effect.
3. Energy and Atmosphere Performance (12/35 Points):
Optimized energy performance was a key target in this category. Building systems were designed to reduce energy consumption, while measurement and verification strategies improved energy management. However, there remains potential for further progress in renewable and green energy integration.
4. Indoor Environmental Quality (11/15 Points):
To ensure a healthy indoor environment, low-emission materials, thermal comfort design, and chemical pollutant control were prioritized. These approaches enhanced occupant health and comfort, contributing to increased productivity among building users.
5. Innovation and Regional Priority Credits (9/10 Points):
The project demonstrated sensitivity to regional sustainability needs. Local material use, water efficiency solutions, and energy measurement applications delivered both environmental and societal benefits.
