As Erke Design, we contributed to creating an environmentally conscious office space by providing LEED Consultancy for the Seba Office Boulevard Block C project in Istanbul. Our project achieved LEED BD+C: Core and Shell (v2009) Gold Certification with a total of 63 points. This success was achieved through design and implementation strategies prioritizing energy efficiency, water conservation, and occupant comfort.
Seba Office Boulevard Block C was designed with innovative solutions to reduce environmental impacts while meeting user needs. The key areas of success include:
Sustainable Sites (19/28):
High performance was achieved through solutions like access to public transportation, bicycle infrastructure, and strategies to mitigate the heat island effect. Environmental sensitivity and user convenience supported this success.
Water Efficiency (8/10):
Innovative wastewater technologies and water-saving systems were implemented to optimize water consumption.
Energy and Atmosphere (15/37):
Energy consumption was effectively managed with systems that optimize energy performance, along with measurement and verification practices. This was a significant step in enhancing energy savings.
Materials and Resources (6/13):
The focus was placed on sustainable resource use through the management of construction waste and local sourcing. Recycled-content materials were preferred to minimize environmental impact.
Indoor Environmental Quality (6/12):
Occupant health and comfort were prioritized through the use of low-emission materials, advanced indoor air quality measures, and thermal comfort designs.
The project earned additional points by implementing innovative strategies and addressing regional priorities. Achievements in areas such as energy performance and heat island reduction were particularly impactful in meeting environmental goals.
